New slabs process – single layer (Full bond or loose lay method depending on the architects and clients requirements.) Both methods are specified and acceptable in the industry.

Step 1
- Prep and clean

Step 2
- 1 x layer bitumen primer coating to ensure a dust free surface and to allow proper bonding of the torchon layer. Allow to dry 20 minutes

Step 3
1 x layer of the 4mm torchon system is installed (full bond or loose lay) , the application of the torchon is either Derbigum, ThermoDual and Torch Dual. All of the torchons are supplied by the longest standing suppliers in South Africa and we have their full backing. We have been approved applicators of the torchons since 1982. The torchon’s are gas welded to ensure a good and proper seal throughout.

Step 4
- Drainage points/full bores/side outlets must be a minimum of 110mm pipes

Step 5
- Counter flashings are installed at all upturns on feature walls as per manufacturers specification, this includes a 100mm membrane using Bondflex/Plasticrly or Bondcryl

Step 6
- 1 x layer protective aluminium coating is applied as the final coating to ensure longevity and protection from our African sun
